Jilin Provincial Central Station for Comprehensive Vehicle Performance Inspection is located on the scenic Nanling Campus of Jilin University. In October 2000, relying mainly on the Automotive Operation Laboratory and supported by Jilin University’s Tenth Five-Year Plan “211 Project” key construction funds, a comprehensive automobile performance inspection line was built. It was certified by the Jilin Provincial Department of Transport and officially designated as Jilin Provincial Central Station for Comprehensive Vehicle Performance Inspection. On this basis, the Jilin University Vehicle Inspection Technology R&D Center was established in August 2004. At that time, it operated the most comprehensive inspection line with the widest range of testing items in Jilin Province. The station undertakes both teaching and scientific research tasks for Vehicle Operation Engineering and provides public social services. Upon completion, it was positioned by the Jilin Provincial Department of Transport as the provincial central inspection station for comprehensive vehicle performance. In 2003, it passed the assessment organized by the Ministry of Transport and became the seventh provincial-level central vehicle inspection station nationwide. The station focuses on vehicle inspection technology, conducting comprehensive performance, safety and environmental testing for commercial vehicles in the transportation industry, and developing new technologies, equipment and testing methods for vehicle inspection. After more than 20 years of development, the station now undertakes the following functions: constructing the information-based supervision network for vehicles in Jilin Province; formulating and improving the provincial standard system and technical regulations for automobile inspection; organizing training, assessment and standard promotion for all practitioners engaged in comprehensive vehicle inspection across the province; conducting valuation of in-use vehicles, inspection of import and export automobiles, and market supervision testing for automobiles and auto parts.
The station has a total investment of over RMB 18 million, with a construction area of 1,890 square meters and a parking lot covering 1,950 square meters. After over two decades of construction, it is equipped with more than 60 sets of special inspection and teaching equipment. It serves both teaching and research of Transportation and delivers public social services.
