Affiliated to the Department of Vehicle Operation Engineering, School of Transportation, the Automotive Operation Laboratory was founded in 1956, making it the earliest laboratory for automotive operation engineering in China. The laboratory covers an area of 2,190 square meters, equipped with 788 experimental devices valued at a total of RMB 23.5903 million, with a 100% equipment availability rate.
It offers 17 experimental and practical training courses covering 37 experimental projects for 5 undergraduate majors across the school, serving over 600 students with an annual experimental workload of 10,540 student-hours. It also supports thesis experiments for master’s and doctoral students.
The laboratory is capable of undertaking scientific research projects in transportation disciplines. It has won more than 120 scientific research awards at all levels and holds over 70 authorized invention patents.
The laboratory has 5 full-time staff, including 1 senior engineer, 2 engineers, 1 staff member with a doctoral degree and 2 with master’s degrees.
